Huatulco is an area located on the Pacific Coast of the state of Oaxaca in Mexico. It lies at the edge of the Sierra Madre del Sur Mountains and covers about 20 miles of Pacific coastline in Mexico.

Huatulco has a tropical climate with a wet season from June to October and a dry season from November to May. Its ecosystem has deciduous trees and a variety of wildlife, like opossums, raccoons, ringtails, armadillos, ocelots, skunks, coati, and white-tailed deer.
Santa María Huatulco is the name of the town in Oaxaca, Mexico. It is located away from the ocean and surrounded by the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains. The town is small and charming. La Crucecita is in the zocalo (main square), which includes the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, the beautiful cathedral, restaurants like Onix, Terra Cotta, El Sabor de Oaxaca, Santa Clara, Rigoletto, Los Portales and La Red, and several mezcalerías. The Museum of Oaxacan Crafts is also located here.

Bahía El Órgano has warm and calm waters. It is ideal for snorkeling and diving. Órgano is the type of cactus that grows in the region. The beach has a golden sand color with bits of coral and shells. The water turns a turquoise blue color, then greenish at sunset. There are mangroves.
You can access El Órgano by sea or by land. Bahía El Órgano is part of Huatulco’s National Park, so there rules and precautions in place.
Bahía Santa Cruz has 6 beautiful beaches. The three popular beaches are Playa La Entrega, Playa La Yerbabuena, and Playa Santa Cruz. The other beaches are Playa El Amor, Playa El Paraiso, Playa El Fandango, Playa Los Pescadores.
The more developed areas of Huatulco include the bays of Bahia Chahue, Bahia Tangolunda and Bahia Conejos.
Bahia Chahue has a yacht marina for large and small yachts. It has three principal beaches; Playa Chahué, Playa Esperanza and Playa Tejón.
Playa Chahué is a beautiful beach. It was the first beach on the Oaxacan coastline to receive “Clean Beach” certification in 2010. This is reflected in the quality of its water, its environmental management and information, and its infrastructure.
Playa Esperanza has strong breaking waves that are excellent for surfing. There are a variety of hotels.
Playa Tejón is a quiet beach with amazing sunsets. Tejón means badger and you will see some of them around.
Bahía Tangolunda is 3km east of Chahue. Bahía Tangolunda is a beautiful bay. It has five principal beaches; Playa Ventura, Playa Manzanillo, Playa Tornillo, Playa Tangolunda and Playa Rincon Sabroso.
Bahía Tangolunda has All Inclusive hotels and rental houses.
Bahía Conejos has a beautiful sunrise, the sky painted orange and purple.
Huatulco was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2006.

San Agustinillo is a small fishing village and beach. It is located east of the coastal communities of Mazunte.

The Mexican Center of the Turtle is in Mazunte.
In 1990, hunting sea turtles was banned and the town now dedicates itself to turtle preservation.
This Center has a great array of turtle species such as golfina, carey, laud, and prieta. The Center is in charge of protecting the sea turtle and also take care of terrestrial and freshwater turtles.
Mazunte is located about 1 km from San Agustinillo.
Huatulco was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2006.
